Job Description:
The Functional Area Analyst-Senior (DBA) will have the experience and knowledge of business, functional and technical areas/disciplines, activities or events. The candidate is responsible for working with customers to document and strategize for process, system and functional improvements within their area of expertise. The candidate must also be able to perform research and provide solutions within the functional discipline and also conduct research on special areas as may be assigned. The candidate must have experience with proposing new solutions to problems, issues or risks in the area of their functional expertise.
Responsibilities
· Backup and Recovery Methods for Mongo DB
· Database software Installation and Configuration
· Hands on experience with Monitoring tools like Mongo Operations Manager, Oracle OEM, and others.
· Monitor performance and tune, diagnose and repair data systems
· Work with development staff to ensure that database deployments, access and security compliance measures are consistently met and with government guidelines and requirements
· Status reporting to information technology management and any assigned project teams when required
· Participate in regular customer meetings to report project status, progress, and risks/issues as applicable.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of hands on experience as MongoDB Database Administrator
· A minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience as a Database Administrator
· Experience with Key-Value, Wide column stores, NoSQL and related technologies
· Experience with Query and Database Optimization techniques
· Master degree in Information Systems/Technology, or other analytical or technical discipline preferred. (10-years of relevant experience may be substituted for education)
· A proven track record and expertise in database management techniques
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work well in a team environment and lead other DBAs
· Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
· Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs is preferred
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance for persons in a position of public trust conducted by the VA/OPM
