RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Test Engineer must have experience in the coordination and execution of test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures and scripts. Must have knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accurately. Must be able to create test reports. The test engineer must be able to test IT hardware, software, systems and networks. The Contractor shall conduct testing support as specified and applicable in approved VA directives, regulations, and guidelines. The Contractor shall provide testing support as needed to include manual and automated functional and integration systems testing; performance, load and stress testing; Section 508 conformance testing; security testing support; and other test types as applicable to ensure quality of DAS projects.

- Attend scrum meetings/sprints for assigned projects.
- Update tasks in RCM (Rational Comprehensive Model)
- Work with the Scrum Teams to identify pain points and questions that may need to be deferred to the Product Owner
- Create Test Cases and Test Scripts for each product, execute them, and load them into RQM (Rational Quality Manager)
- Work with developers when a defect is discovered to log and resolve the defect Manage testing by test engineers and specialists and provide test reporting for the results of testing activities.
- Provide status updates for test activities, test schedule updates, and deliverables review with the VA Test Managers, DAS, and applicable interfacing functional areas.
- Develop Test Automation scripts and conduct automated testing, as approved by the VA Test Manager and PM, to optimize effectiveness of regression and related test activities and to optimize manual testing activities.
- Ensure all test deliverables conform to VA policy and guideline requirements and demonstrate test coverage of defined business, functional, non-functional, and VA Enterprise system requirements.
- Report on test progress in project Scrum team and related meetings, test execution triage meetings, and in test status reports.
- Document updates to test artifacts as required to test approved Requests for Change in response to evolving customer system needs and requirements identified through the VA formal change control process.
- Lead and organize meetings that include agenda items such as test planning, peer reviews, test execution triage, defect management, resource planning, and test status.
- Re-test defects to ensure rectification and full traceability is provided in Rational by linking requirements to user stories to Test Cases/Scripts
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 – 3 yrs. Experience as a Test Engineer/QA Analyst
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
- Experience executing Regression and Smoke Testing
- Experience developing Test Summary Reports
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile principles
- Experience working with Rational Testing Suite in preferred
